What is a Death Doula?
A death doula or end of life coach is a non-medical person who can help provide spiritual and emotional support as well as education for a person and their families/friends about the dying process. They can help plan memorial services, discuss cremation and funeral plans, as well as vigil planning, legacy projects, relaxation exercises and short-term grief counseling and be present when possible, during the dying process. They can work in conjunction with hospice but can meet with individuals prior to hospice admission.
